Hi everyone. I was just wondering if anyone knows if Michael's is going to have a sales flyer next week and if it has a 50% off coupon. Me and a friend are going shopping and were hoping for some 50% off coupons. Thanks, Angel

I visited several Michael's this week. All the stores I visited are starting to have a stack of the sales flyer available in a bin at the door entry (until they are used up). Those bins were not there before. I did converse with a clerk at one store, and she did say that the rules were changing. You WILL need a coupon to get the discount, no more signing a sheet because you don't have a flier. Also, at least one Michael's would allow you to use more than one Michael's coupon per purchase. That has also gone away. They do still honor the competitor coupon, one per purchase.
I was at M's today and they had a coupon at the door for this Sunday (6/29) -- good for 25% off entire purchase INCLUDING sale items.... but who knows what will be on sale then?
ohhh i didnt know we can get coupons.
i just bought a cartridge for my cricut machine,
would of loved to get that coupon :(
but i'm signing up right now to get those coupons
Except their coupons specifically state that you can't use the coupons on any Cricut products, so having a coupon wouldn't have worked on the cartridge anyway. I only buy the cartridges there when they have one of their sales where the cartridges are 40+% off.
so you gals know, michaels has for years only run flyers every other week or so, for january thru like mid september. it's considered off season. So that don't do the circulars as often. Mid September thru Christmas they have an Ad every week. That is considered peak season. Don't know why we do it this way, but that's how it is!
since Michaels has new owners, they have been trying new things, and that's why you see those little one page deals being handed out in store for the following week, and the coupons on your receipts. Some of those are "tests" to see what works the best for the company. So if you got them, use them! Maybe that will help them to keep doing them.
Hmm, my store hasn't had an ad for the last 2 weeks. I just signed up for the online flyers, as they don't always come in the paper, even if there was supposed to be one.

Same reason I signed up. You would think they would be offering big discounts to get customers to buy considering the gas prices. I know I don't usually buy unless I either absolutely need it or have a 40% or 50% off coupon from them. A.C. Moore has much better selections, from what I can see and in this area, Michaels stores don't all carry the same merchandise.
Most of the time michaels ads will be every other week, but ocassionaly they will have 2 weeks without an ad, then an ad the next week. There are also weeks when there will be an ad 2 weeks in a row. They never used to do the little handouts with coupons that are for the no ad weeks, so that's a step up that they have been and also the receipt coupons is a new thing for us! A good thing!

I was just in ACM today, lured in by their weekly ad introducing their "all new scrapbooking department."
Well, the store I went to was a disaster area. Aisle after aisle of empty racks, a few endcaps of punches and things layered 3 deep so that you couldn't shop off of two of them. Sizzix was 40% off, but it was butted up against the ends of a bunch of flower displays so that you couldn't shop that either. Then there was the scrapbook paper sale, I think it was 4/$1? But that was only the "regularly .59" papers, and guess what, nearly every paper they had was .79 and up--so almost nothing was on sale!
I wandered over to the other side of the store for some glue on rhinestones, and all of the jewelry/beading stuff was clearanced/trashed/empty too. I left empty handed and VERY disappointed. You'd think that if they were doing a big ad about a new scrapbooking department, the store would have completed the floor set in a timely manner.

Gee, it is a shame you had that experience. Sounds like a poorly managed store. I know of two within 30 miles, one in Frederick, MD and the one I use regularly, here in Rockville. Both are clean well managed stores with plenty of clerks working the floor stocking and there to assist customers. That's why I prefer it to Michael's or JoAnn's.
I love Hobby Lobby....I really wish they had them out here on the East Coast!! I always go to one in Paducah KY when I visit my grandparents, and one in Colorado Springs when I visit some friends. The one in Paducah had some house mouse stamps on clearance when I was there in May, and now that i know what House Mouse is, I am kicking myself for not buying them! I have never seen House Mouse at A.C. Moore, Michaels, or Jo-Anns.
