I noticed this too when I was there last month! I am hoping that's not a sign of anything.......I love Flower & Craft Warehouse.
I too noticed the dramatic reduction in stock at the F & C Warehouse! It's one of my favorite places to buy dp and supplies and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they won't close too. I already miss RubberBuggy since they're closed. Thanks to everyone for all the LSS info in this thread! One of these days I'm going to drive around and visit them all!
Rubbernecker Stamp Company will be at a Scrapbook show in the next month, and their prices are really great. Go check them out at www.rubbernecker.com or check Sherry Cheevers site, Badsherry, and she has dates of shows listed. They will be in York. They may also need demo's, and it's fun to work for them. great company.
[COLOR="Plum"]If you have a LSS and a AC Moore or Michaels nearby. Which place do you patronize to buy your supplies. I mostly buy my stuff at my scrapbook store or at White Swan. I only buy ribbons or embellishment at either AC Moore or Michaels. I'm also guilty of buying the Internet.
Sally;)

For those of you who shop at Barbara's Stamping Delight, her father, Levi, passed away last Wednesday evening after being sick for a while. Just letting you know in case you'd like to send her a card. DH and I went up Friday for the viewing, and Barbara was doing as good as expected. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.
This weekend, I have a women's retreat up at Allenbury Resort in Boiling Springs, PA. I noticed Rachel's Country Store is about an hour from there and thought about stopping there before going to the retreat on Friday. Is her store easy to find? Is there a sign at the end of her driveway? Any landmarks I should look for? I googled the directions, so I have them, but figured any landmarks would be great.

I'm so glad I found this thread. I too am always looking for local stores to purchase from. I'm lucky that I live near Hershey and I've got 2 great stores within a few miles of my house.
I hope it's ok to post this here, but I've got a Shoebox Swap going on at the Fancy That Boutique in Hummelstown in November if anyone is interested, please check out the Get it Together Forum and the Central PA Holiday Card SBS.

I hate to say it but I live about 5 minutes from Flower and craft Warehouse. They have filed bankruptcy and rumor has it they will eventually close. That is what the buzz is anyway....there stock has dwindled BIG TIME!! Stamp selection stinks!! I do not go there much as they are kinda expensive and to touristy!!
FYI for all you locals...I got a postcard from Rachel, owner of Fron the Heart. She is having a sale next weekend. I don't have the card handy but there was definietly paper and bazzil on the sale list. Just an FYI.
Still so jealous you all live where you can get great stuff from great people...
Just found the postcard, that's what I get for letting the mail pile up! The sale is Oct 4, 6, 7, 8-5. Says it's paper and such, plus a discount on metallic inks. We learned after driving all around (and due to appointment times & days) that she is, literay, around the corner from another lady, Esther (forget the name of her place but it is on the list posted earlier in this thread.) Esther has TONS of stamps. Rachel had some, and most were different from Esther's.
I remain jealous and hope you have a great trip (there are a LOT of great places within a reasonable distance, but I would have never found them without the GPS!!!)
I got Rachel's postcard too and might swing by after the York convention. Just depends on how long I stay in York.
And for those of you going to Rachel's, Esther's (Country Cottage Creations) is just around the corner as mentioned by Denise and also Barbara's Stamping Delight isn't too far from there either. You could plan a full day of stamp shopping!
And if you want pumpkins or fall decorations, the Amish are the ones to buy them from - very cheap! They don't sell pumpkins by the pound like most English owned places, so you can get pretty big pumpkins for just a couple bucks.
I have no clue how close places really are to each other given the way we had to go to them with appointments and such. BUT, Barbara has an AMAZING selection of many items, with TONS of really nice stamps! All 3 are places I hope to get to again and make my August spree an annual event!
I think I took a picture of Barbara's September Great Impressions SOTM for you, because you had mentioned you liked sunflowers. I'll check at home and post it if I did in case you'd like to get any from her. She'd be more than happy to send ya any that you'd like.
And she placed a huge Prima order, so that should come in hopefully in a few more weeks.

Ooooooo... so much! I really should have asked about a catalog and/or bought more while there...but it just gives me a reason to go back, right?? ;)
Rachel's From the Heart is different than Rachel's Country Store. From the Heart is located at 95 Spring Road, Paradise, PA 17562. It's a really nice store. Country Cottage Creations is a hop, skip, and a jump from From the Heart. This is owned by Esther, and her address is 3501 White Oak Road, Paradise, PA. Then about 2 miles from here is Barbara's Stamping Delight located at 476 Dry Wells Road, Quarryville, PA 17566. I'm not sure where you are coming from, but I can give you directions to Esther and Barbara's from Rachel's if you need them.
I've been to Rachel's Country Store only once and I was not impressed at all with their stamping/scrapping selection.
Thank you Cindy! I am glad I asked!! I live near Huntingdon. I thought to go to the country store on my way...but you are saying not worth it?
I'm used to going to the Amish owned stamp stores in Lancaster County, so that was what I thought Rachel's Country Store would be like. Doesn't compare in the least to the Lancaster County shops. She has a small stamping/scrapping section upstairs in her store. I only went, because I was going to a Women's retreat out that way and drove the extra hour to check out her store. Everyone's take on a store is different, so you might want to check out it.
We had a wonderful day! Visited L&L, Barbara's, Rachels from the heart and the one up the road from her. Country Cottage Creations. Spent way too much....but Cindy, I made sure they all knew you sent us! Barbara was working and her mother took care of us! Very nice shops! Tomorrow is another day!

So glad you had a great time. Aren't those stores the bomb??? The prices rock.
Yes we went...and spent way too much there too!! lol...had a great time! I forgot to tell Teacher that I told Rachel she said hello too! She remembered talking to her. What a nice lady. She let us shop on the day she was closed! We were lucky she was home!

Thanks Katie!! I did speak with rachel, and it was her sister, Ruthie, whom I actually met. Rachel was kind enough to ask Ruthie to open for me, and Ruthie was just as kind to agree to do it. I got a lovely thank you card from Ruthie not too long ago for some stuff I sent her...can't wait to go back!
Yes, Rachel said that...she was surprised I knew all that! What a lovely person! Actually they were ALL great!! Can't wait to go back! Hey when you do go, make sure you go to Shady Grove Smorgasbord. Lorene told us about it...to die for! Not far from her.

My mom and I spent way too much too. More than we thought we would. Glad you had a great time.

We normally stick to Miller's but came *this close* to the Shady place!! Perhaps next trip!! Poor Rachel must think I'm nuts!
