Thanks for telling us because ACMoore never sent customers an email about it so I would not have known for awhile. I only got a cryptic email about last chance ever for coupons. Today I got an email about how the Rewards Program is ending... today. I had 2 purchases where bonus points were not added and I needed to contact them but who has time to fix all the problems from companies. So check that off the list.
I guess this is kinda similar to Pat Catan's going out of business. Regional family company and national Michael's is taking over.

Michael's took over Pat Catan's and its parent company, which made Joann change its suppliers, and now Michael's is taking over many A.C.Moore locations. It's going to be "interesting" to see how long Hobby Lobby can hold on against the big M, how many local stamping and scrapbooking stores survive, and even how long smaller online sites continue in operation.
How did Joann change its suppliers? I get confused between who owns who - Darice, Consumer Crafts, Blitsy, ACMoore, etc. Now Joann sells its own brand Paper Lane. Did Joann sell Darice before? I forget. Wait, I remember Joann sold the cardstock Core'dinations which is Darice. BTW, I noticed during a paper sale online that DCWV was included with the Park Lane brand (and the coupon didn't work for either in store so the cashier manually adjusted the Park Lane only).
AC Moore was the closest craft store to me but they did not have very many stamping/papercraft supplies at my location. I doubt the store near me is big enough for Michael’s to take over. I am sorry to see them go.
I am sure Michaels won't be taking over the acmoore near me because there is already a Michaels less than a mile from it! I like both stores, but Michaels prices were better. Acmoore had the tool called the Big Bite for $49.99 and Michaels had it $10 cheaper. I liked the Love Nicole brand stuff acmoore had, though. I will miss it for sure
I was just at my local, acmoore and the only HUGE sales were Christmas clearance. The biggest discounts at the moment are 25% off everything. And they still had lots of supplies. Maybe as the time gets closer for closing the discounts will go up.
Many of the closing A.C.Moore stores will be converting into Michaels stores, so there may be a lot of behind-the-scenes analysis of duplicated items going on now. They'll probably only discount the items that will no longer be carried after the conversion is complete. (ACM carried Wilton products, and Michael's is changing all of those to their own branding. M's is doing that with other products, too, e.g., making their own imitation-of-Copic markers with the same or a very similar numbering system. Sadly, it's going to be harder and harder to find the "real" brand name items in brick-and-mortar stores.
I can't say I am surprised that AC Moore had to close, at least if our local store was indicative of what they did everywhere. The decimated the stamping/paper crafting areas, maybe 3 years ago. I'm not sure of the exact time frame. They had only one very small aisle for stamping and it had only old, stale products. I guess they did have an aisle for 12 x 12 single sheets of paper but I almost never purchase my paper that way. As a result, I stopped shopping there so they lost not only my paper craft purchases but anything else I might have picked up while I was there.
