This is my sample for Toni's WTUI challenge today - find out all about it HERE.
DH was surprised that I had made this, but I had assured him that he should have seen this sweet little girl before, as it's not the first time I've used her.
Base is sponged distress inks with a negative die-cut to mask the grass. I stamped the sentiment, then used pearlescent medium to add little raindrops with a stencil.
The card base was coloured with a silver pen (because clouds have silver linings) and dotted. The little girl was stamped on thin white card and coloured with pencils, then fussy-cut. The Umbrella was stamped with a Brilliance spectrum pad, and is popped up on foam.
To fill a rather empty scene, I added the little hedgehog and some mushrooms, and then as a final thought added a tiny little mouse sheltering from the rain Under one of the mushrooms. He's technically a Christmas mouse, but he was the only thing I could find that was the right scale to use on the card.

Perfect little scene to go with a fantastic sentiment - one I'm sure Gene Kelly's character would agree with - Makes me want to find a copy of "Singing in the Rain" on video . . . .

It rains here most of the year so I probably should take up dancing! I always buy bright, happy umbrellas and that helps
Love your card, Sabrina. It is really adorable.

Don't know about hedgehogs, but little girls in galoshes and mushrooms really do like rain. : ) Darling card with your cute die cuts and sweetly colored little girl with her fancy umbrella.

Sabrina, this is a sweet card all the way around, from the happy sentiment to the cute little girl and critters. (and since the mouse isn't wearing a Santa hat or elf shoes, I would not worry about his association to Christmas).
