Can a day get any betterÂ….Teapot Tuesday AND only one sleep to go. We are continuing the Christmas theme for this weeks party for Anita from Franklinten NC. Anita has very serious health problems and Christmas cards are her favourites. Mail delivery has been slower than usual lately so this will probably reach Anita by Easter!!
Christmas sort of snuck up on me this year (when I said this to DH he reminded me that it is ALWAYS on 25th December) grrrrrrr isn’t that such a man thing to say? Anyway….here I am on Christmas Eve making a Christmas card. This card is actually a CASE of a CASE. I did a card very similar to this for an earlier tea party for Patty. During my rein as Queen for the Day (which happily lasts for an entire week and DH still occasionally refers to me as Madge – short for Your Majesty), Lois aka Clowmom cased my card and made a Christmas card. In turn I have CASED Lois’s card.
I cut and folded this stair step card before embossing it. The Merry Christmas is washi tape!!! I punched a gazillion little branches to make the tree and added stickles. During the year I received some gorgeous die cut snowflakes in a tickle – loved them and HAD to buy the die set. I added diamond stickles to the snowflakes. The gate is a Spellbinder die that I had hardly ever used because it has been sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard to cut…….not anymore. I think it is fair to say this gate will be very popular in 2014.
Our very own Nancy (Stiz2003) gave me a recipe for flattening my Cuttlebug/Vagabond plates. The ‘B’ plates go in the oven, I put them in with the Sunday roast. The temperature was fairly high, the plates came out great but we needed a chain saw to cut the lamb and I dropped a baked potato on the floor and nearly broke a tile, but the important thing is my CB plates are as flat as a pancake.
Nancy also told me about a metal shim that helps with cutting – funny thing is I had this metal plate still in its package and didn’t know why I had bought it. Oh life couldn’t get any better, all my dies cut like a dream now thanks to Nancy.
Have a wonderful Christmas everyone. Thank you for an amazing year as a Teapotter, I have loved every minute and value the friendships made. Big hugs, Susie
