Can a day get any betterÂ….Teapot Tuesday AND only one sleep to go. We are continuing the Christmas theme for this weeks party for Anita from Franklinten NC. Anita has very serious health problems and Christmas cards are her favourites. Mail delivery has been slower than usual lately so this will probably reach Anita by Easter!!
Christmas sort of snuck up on me this year (when I said this to DH he reminded me that it is ALWAYS on 25th December) grrrrrrr isn’t that such a man thing to say? Anyway….here I am on Christmas Eve making a Christmas card. This card is actually a CASE of a CASE. I did a card very similar to this for an earlier tea party for Patty. During my rein as Queen for the Day (which happily lasts for an entire week and DH still occasionally refers to me as Madge – short for Your Majesty), Lois aka Clowmom cased my card and made a Christmas card. In turn I have CASED Lois’s card.
I cut and folded this stair step card before embossing it. The Merry Christmas is washi tape!!! I punched a gazillion little branches to make the tree and added stickles. During the year I received some gorgeous die cut snowflakes in a tickle – loved them and HAD to buy the die set. I added diamond stickles to the snowflakes. The gate is a Spellbinder die that I had hardly ever used because it has been sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard to cut…….not anymore. I think it is fair to say this gate will be very popular in 2014.
Our very own Nancy (Stiz2003) gave me a recipe for flattening my Cuttlebug/Vagabond plates. The ‘B’ plates go in the oven, I put them in with the Sunday roast. The temperature was fairly high, the plates came out great but we needed a chain saw to cut the lamb and I dropped a baked potato on the floor and nearly broke a tile, but the important thing is my CB plates are as flat as a pancake.
Nancy also told me about a metal shim that helps with cutting – funny thing is I had this metal plate still in its package and didn’t know why I had bought it. Oh life couldn’t get any better, all my dies cut like a dream now thanks to Nancy.
Have a wonderful Christmas everyone. Thank you for an amazing year as a Teapotter, I have loved every minute and value the friendships made. Big hugs, Susie

Merry Christmas! TYFS your gorgeous card. It is truly a special gift for your friend. I may have to check out that gate die.
It's pretty amazing in itself.

A lovely, lovely card, Susie! I can only imagine the incredible mansion that must lie up the lane inside these eleborate gates. Love your commentary, they always delight me! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Look froward to your awesome creations next year! I must get that gate, I have a fence, but I can never been able to get a good release after the cut. I haven't tried but a couple of times and just gave up. Took too long to pick the torn paper out of the die. I have been reluctant to attempt trying again..... maybe next year!!

What a WOW way to end the year Susie. This is nothing short of amazing and to think you pulled it off on Christmas Eve. Same as you the whole season really snuck up on me. I think it's because we went away to Europe for the month of october and that put me behind in my fall gardening. The only thing that really matters to me is that the kids arrived from Toronto and London safely and our dear Alex is sporting a huge diamond engagement ring. She is so happy and so are we. Have a wonderful Christmas, which come to think of it is almost over for you but for me is just 10 minutes young.
Merry Christmas!

Wow Susie, this is beautiful creation. Love, love, LOVE everything about it and the way you created your scene with all the little details - and your tree looks amazing. I had a good chuckle about your flattened embossing plates - you are so funny :-))
This is stunning!!!! I should really try and do a CASE of this. My mother loves and SAVES every card of mine but I haven't tried anything this detailed. She would be in awe! Going in my faves!
Loved reading about your Christmas. It always comes on the 25th, huh? Giggle! Well just between you and me, it snuck up on me too! :( I don't think I was very creative with DD's presents and she was a tiny bit disappointed! I hope I made it up to her today by taking her shopping!

Oh my word Susie this is a real stunner!!! I love every little inch of it from the layout to the darling green tree peeking out from the elegant layout of white. AND I am still giggling over the roast and the CB plates - Oh my word sister....only another stamper/paper crafter could appreciate throwing them in with the roast - hugs you crazy thing you.

Susie, have you every thought of writing for TV comedy shows! I got such a kick out of your posted description! You're funny and extremely talented, too! This card looks like I can start it but not finish. You have great supplies and this is so outstanding!
