This is my card for this week's Letter I alphabet challenge. The I's in my card are Icy winter Scene and Island Indigo Ink and cardstock. I have been rummaging through my stamps recently ever since I read that Miss Boo is using her older stamp sets (what a great idea!). I bought this Happy Scene set on a garage sale last summer so I thought I would ink this up. I was not sure about stamping the image in the Island Indigo ink, but once I stamped it onto scratch paper, I liked it so I rolled with it. Here in MN it gets cold enough that everything turns blue- including the trees. Ugh! With Cool Carribean ink, I used the edge of a Dreamweaver Picasso Metal Shield to add in a few clouds. Then I used a zig 2-way glue pen to add in the dazzling diamonds on the trees and the ground, but the scene still needed something. Birds did not work so I searched through most of my dies until I found this deer die. We live in the woods so we have a lot of turkey and deer so I liked the idea of using this deer. It is a trio of deer and this is the "baby" of the trio. I sponged creamy carmel ink onto the deer die and glued it into place. This was a very lucky accident because I had not even thought to put the window die on at this point so I am glad I got the deer in a good spot- whew! I took the Island Indigo cs and ran it through a stripes folder to give it the look of wainscotting and paired it with this dsp I found in my stash. We are wanting to redo our family room and I like this color combination enough that we may do this in there now. My husband likes it too because it is blue. Ha! I glued the window die over the scene and it just fell flat. Ugh! So, I set this aside overnight and went to bed a bit frustrated. I woke up the next day and punched a few of these pine branches out and added a twine bow and now I am happier with this card. I am sure this design has been used many times over, but I really did have fun creating and making this icy wintery scene. Thanks for looking today! ~Karen.
