I had a lot of fun doing this card for the JAN08VSNC Challenge. The challenge was called "Little Black Dress" and it was to stamp the main image on black cardstock.
I looked through my stamps and decided I wanted to use a solid stamp and embossing powders. I finally decided to use gold embossing powder and thought this pear stamp might look good in gold. Then the card took off from there.
I didn't have gold brads, so I took silver ones and embossed them with gold embossing powder.
I wanted to add gold elsewhere on my card to help tie it together, so I used the two-way glue pen to highlight some of the swirls in the designer paper and then embossed the swirls in gold as well.
To tie together the soft edges of the pear and the swirls, I rounded two of the corners on the main image and added some scallops behind the background papers (the scallops are 1/2" circles glued behind the Always Artichoke border).
The blue background is stamped with the Linen background stamp to add texture.
The main image is popped up on dimensionals.
Thanks for looking! I had fun playing this challenge!
