My mother said ever since she heard someone in the forums call this set Holy Triptych Batman, she can't stop calling it that. Now I can't stop either. Thanks, Mum ;-)
This is for today's Ways To Use It Challenge, which is to use wood. I got out my trusty wood (maple)veneer panels from Lee Valley Tools (www.leevalleytools.com) . Now that I have a crop-a-dile, these are a cinch to punch for making into tags, adding brads/eyelets/etc.
I stamped the image with black stazon and painted it with Twinkling H20's, so it's a bit sparkly, especially the gold. I stippled a bit around the edges with brown inks. I wiped the veneer with paper towel and a bit of Tried and True (linseed-based wood finish, also from Lee Valley Tools, leftover from an NSR project). This last step isn't really necessary, I just find it brings out the grain of the wood a bit better.
The background panel got dithered over for most of naptime. I wound up printing off the bit of St. Luke's gospel about the birth of Jesus and using that as the background. I stippled it a bit too with old olive ink. Linen is stmaped on the brown card and "noel" is embossed with gold. Some gold cord and organdy and this card was done (finally!).
