Decided to go with this cute pup, since any type of dog is acceptable for the challenge.
This stamp set (no longer available) does have a coordinating die set (no longer available) but I decided fussy cut the dog to eliminate the white border around the dog image.
The dark brown corner pieces were an after-thought to cover a mistake and in the end, I think it adds an extra pop to highlight the focal panel.

That is one totally adorable little pup. In my opinion you made the right choice to fussy-cut. I think the white outline can look okay on a white background, but on your fun check he definitely looks better like this. I like that you didn't use pink or red for the heart.
