For this card, a redo of one done I did 17 years ago, I dusted off my very old, SU old fashioned stove stamp and embossed it in black - reminiscent of stoves of yesteryear. I hinged two of the doors to reveal a loaf of bread baking and a very uncooperative turkey in a big soup pot.
Included in my TPT tickle will be a recipe handed down from my maternal grandmother for Kolachies, a longtime favorite (almost as old as that stove, lol).

You've created such a great scene here with a fun touch of humor. I wouldn't want to have to cook on one of those old stoves, but I am drawn to get a closeup look anytime I'm somewhere where they have one on display.

What a cute card with all your old fashioned cooking details, That turkey had me laughing and so did your cat. The cat is wondering what the heck is going on here or thinking....I just don't care.

Looks like Thanksgiving dinner on the go. Great card. The secret to getting the turkey to cooperate is making sure it is not breathing anymore before adding it to the pot. Lol

I really like this. I grew up cooking on an old solid-fuel range in the winter, and we had a smaller electric cooker for the summers. I'd find it hard to readjust to the different ovens, but I did like it. Love the turkey and cat.

Oh my goodness - this is fun, Linda! I learned how to bake and cook on one like this. Ours was fueled by corn cobs and BOY was it difficult to keep a consistent oven temperature - cookies weren't bad but things that took a while like bread and cakes . . . still we managed to turn out some pretty yummy stuff. Thanks for taking us on walk down memory lane with this great kitchenscene.
