This card was made for a sketch challenge and for a thematic challenge that required the use of three different pattern papers.
I found that the Stampin' Up! (SU) Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack titled "Penguin Playmates" had all the pattern papers I needed - in fact, I used four patterns instead of the three required!
I started by fussy cutting the pattern paper that has the large penguin with his arms outstretched.
I wanted to add a little more detail to the card, so used the SU "Stitched Shapes" to cut on the stitched circle to mount him on, then cut two more circles to glue behind him for added dimension to the card.
The two overlapping playing penguin panels measure 1-1/2"x 4". Before mounting the bird circle onto the card front I added a 1/2" wide strip of SU Sweet Sugarplum cardstock across the entire card.
The final step was to add the icy blue gems to the card. Since the SU Opal Rounds are whitish, I colored each with a Copic marker to make them blue to complement the blue background in one of the tilted panels, and the blue I used for the card base.
Aside from fussy cutting out the penguin, this card came together really fast. I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5". I didn't put a sentiment on the card, but I'm saving it for a friendly hello, or a winter birthday.
