My baby brother turned 40 yesterday! I obviously wanted to make him a very special card, but I was a little stumped. Fortunately, my very first stamp and die set from Heartfelt Creations came in the mail on Friday. I won a prize from them through the Word Art Wednesday challenge. What great quality stamps and dies! I loved that I could stamp and die cut this scene so easily. And how cool that there were dies to cut apart the scene! After I die cut the pieces, I kind of pre-inked them with DOX inks. And then quickly colored them in with Copics. It was very quick and easy. My inspiration from the fun website was this photo. If you look closely at my sky, you can really see the inspiration. I used a very light pink paper and sponged on the clouds with Broken China and Tumbled Glass. Then I applied some white ink to the clouds as well. The sky is really neat and perfect for the fishing scene. I colored all the leaves green until I remembered that it's fall and the leaves are just starting to change here, so I took some orange to that tree in the back and then some yellow to all the low brush. I didn't get a chance to post this card yesterday because the boys had a football game and then we were off to Mike's birthday party. He loved his card!
