This was my third attempt; I hope that doesn't scare you from trying this as I suspect you will all do better than I did. I did make a card with my first attempt, even though it wasn't right. My second attempt ended up in the trash and if you know me, you know that I don't throw anything away. Here is the story for this one:
I chose a simpler ef this time; I think that is important. And I followed the directions and used white acrylic paint with a lighter hand, mostly trying to get the paint into the crevices of the ef. I had just gotten a small set of the Inktense pencils, which is what the tutorial suggests but I'm not sure if they needed to dry a bit before I put on the paint. The color did smear a bit. I still found it hard to sand but was reasonably happy with this card. It has a grungy look, which I don't dislike. I diecut the puzzle pieces, diecut a second time with the gold mirror and inlaid those letters into the pieces. Added a 'puzzle' sentiment and the little string of hearts that came with the puzzle die.
I'm excited to see what you all come up with. Tally ho!

If I must be honest, my first thought was, why did she cover this up...I think I wouldn't have used your black puzzle pieces on this background which seems rich in colors, but I love these puzzle pieces too so finally why not putting them together.

I'm in agreement with Snietje......why cover up the colors? the puzzle pieces are fun, but I'd like to see more of the bg.

I am in agreement, why did you cover most of this. I love the bits of color I see and I do love the puzzle pieces, but I think less is more in this case. We are always our worst critic. But you got me to try something new, and I thank you for that.

Now that was a great folder to use! I might just have to try again. I decided to give my Inktense pencils a blast with the hairdryer before adding the paint, and that seemed to set them. That little string of hearts is just sweet.
