My lasting memory of my Dad up at our lake is when he decided we needed to try sailing. He bought a couple of small Sunfish sailboats and tried one of them out first. Utter failure!!!! Mostly dumped in the water. We just aren't meant to sail but we do like boats.
In searching for ideas for the TLC (rubber band stamping) on Pinterest, I found an idea for evergreen and Christmas trees, which led to this sailboat. I decided to brayer a sky and water, Zentangle some waves with two blue Micron pens and a white gel pen, cut a triangle template for the sail and cut the hull with a circle die, trimmed down. See the blue on the sail? Unintentional!!!! I was Zentangling the bottom, I did dry the DOx inks but apparently not enough. Side of my hand was covered with blue ink (it's humid here today). Oh well, I can live with it. Because this is also for Sue's (gregzgurl) VSN challenge to choose a Beach Boy's song from their album Endless Summer, I did a very quick Zentangle for the waves, rather messy. When I Zentangle, I start carefully but generally pick up speed. My goal is not perfection. BTW, I chose the song All Summer Long, as many sail all summer long. And another inspiration was the song Sailing by Christopher Cross. I still love that song. Take me away to where I'm going. I just read about an Argentinian man, who was in Portugal, taking a sailboat back home to be with his 90 year old father after Argentina closed their borders.
I think I will send this to my sister in law. Her parents were big with sailing on the Great Lakes and others; her mother died in April from Covid-19 and it is a very fond memory for Judy. I will add a sentiment at some point.

Like that you combined these challenges. As did I. I used the TLC part as my water, but I like how you used it for the sail.

This reminds me of a folk painting in its style. I LOVE Zentangle so am happy to see how you created the sea. All in all a unique design that creates so much interest.
