This feminine birthday card was made for a friend. The focal point is the hand-colored hummingbird from Stampin' Up! (SU) "Humming Along" stamp set. Its outline was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then hand colored using Copics markers (see table below for marker #'s). The colors were chosen fro the floral pattern paper in the background.
Since I don't have the bird's matching die set, I scanned and cut it out with my ScanNCut2 digital cutting machine with a 0.04" outside border. The bird is mounted with adhesive foam strips onto a circle of white cardstock that had been embossed with the SU "Tufted" embossing folder. The circle tended to curl after embossing, so I glued a thick circle of white cardstock on the back. I wanted the circle to raise above the card surface, so die cut another circle from fun foam and glued it to the back.
The card front has the floral pattern from the retired SU "Wildflower Fields" designer specialty paper. On top of this I glued a vertical strip of SU Hello Honey, then abutted a rectangle of SU Rich Razzleberry cardstock. These two panel colors were chosen from the floral paper.
The birthday sentiment is from SU "Petite Pairs" stamp set. The three rhinestones are also from SU.
I am rating the difficulty of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5" because of the need to hand color the hummingbird.

Thank you, Bev! For such a simple design, I spent WAY more time figuring out what I wanted to do, than the actual "doing". But isn't that true of most card makers? ;)
