Before Christmas, I pushed hard to get as many projects done before my husband's week of vacation as I could but I wasn't able to get them all done. During his week off I gave myself completely to family time which meant last night at 11 pm I still did not have my birthday card created for today's hop to celebrate a very special lady.
When I saw the MIX challenge I decided to check my Project Bin stamp collection for faces and found Feline Good. The Project Bin also has Kinda Pawsome which is a dog set but if I have the choice you know which animal I am going with!
So Where's the Mix in this CAS card? On the frame! The frame was made from a background I created a while back. It was made with Lydia's Oxidized Shaving Cream technique. Her technique causes really cool bubbles to form. Once I had picked up all the bubbles I could, I added Brushos to the shaving cream and created several more backgrounds! My MIX is: shaving cream, reinkers, and Brushos.

See, this is what I love about having odd bits of background techniques stashed away - they're super for a quick (and sometimes CAS) mixed media card. I really like your idea of adding Brushos to the foam, I will definitely be trying that next time. And I love your cute kitties with their smiling faces.

OMG cute kitties peaking in...lol...and yes, mixed media can be CAS!! Hey that might be my challenge next time I host (it would be a challenge for me, the CAS part anyway). Great bg..I still have some of those shaving cream bgs and they're so much fun to use and come in handy. Thanks for playing along.

Genius! Brushos to the shaving cream. Thanks, Angie. Oh that kitty is so cute, I miss my daughter's cat Tito so much. We don't live close but he was such a lovely cat, more like a person really. An orange boy and I guess those kind really are sweet.

Oh wish I could see more of that bg frame it looks intriguing! And what better way to close out 2018 and begin a new year than by using up bits and pieces to make a fun card.

While I don't know about your choice of going for a cat instead of a dog (tsk, tsk), I do know this card is really cute! Fun layout and I love the fresh colors in the background. Even if it does have cats… lol
