This is for the Teapotters Challenge to make a birthday card for Irene who is having her 99th birthday on January 3rd. I have several January carnations stamped up and colored from last year. I was not sure of the colors but then I noticed the colors were noted on the back. That was so helpful! I need to remember to write notes when I am preparing extra and then to look for those notations. The pink colors seemed to match up well to this unknown paper and I used a scrap of Pear Pizzazz.
Since Irene likes to knit, I repurposed this yarn meant for a baby blanket as a card embellishment. It is a variegated yarn with pink, white and cream. I just wrapped it around and knotted it. I like how the bow turned out to have all the colors.
Linking this up for the December Fan Club Central Theme and the Word Play to use the letters in JUNK:
J = January flower
U = unknown paper
N = notations of colors used
K = knotted yarn
Thanks for looking!

Diane, I love this beautiful card! The January flower is gorgeous in pink and green, and the designer paper is perfect! The string of multi-color yard is a perfect addition to the card. Great work, Diane!

Beautiful! This card reminds me of my mom. I think this was the first stamp set she bought! Beautiful and simple layout that really lets the patterned paper and images do all the work! Lovely yarn too!

Diane, thank you so much for thinking of Irene! I had forgotten that the Carnations was January's flower. Your card is so pretty in pink and green. The yarn tie is so clever - she is knitting a baby blanket right now. :-)

You make beautiful cards with that set. The paper is amazing, at first I thought it looked as if it had been dry embossed and coloured, and the variegated yarn couldn't be a more perfect match...a lovely nod to knitting.
