I don't, on the whole, like creating for commissions. But the only brief I was given for this was to have "Our Daughter's Wedding" on the front (names and date on the inside) and vintage if possible, with flowers, butterflies and hearts. So I did really enjoy making this, and got well paid for the time I spent on it over the weekend. As it's a special occasion I went big, and my base is a full sheet of shimmer white card folded in half.
This meant I had no background stamps big enough - so I stamped the IO Lace in DOX Antique Linen twice, worked out where a good seam would be and stuck them together. I cut the aperture for the sentiment and then wrapped lace around after sponging the edges with Vintage Photo. To frame the sentiment I took a piece of embossed card which has been in my scrap box for a LONG time and cut the scalloped aperture in it, then sponged lightly with shabby shutter and antique linen DI.
The sentiment was computer-generated, printed on medium-weight vellum and embossed with silver EP. I manually embossed round the sentiment with bits of SU's Elegant Lines ef.
I cut several flourishes from green and arranged them on my base. Then I added the flowers - cut from a French dictionary page and gessoed, then some Stickles along the edge of each petal and a pearl in the centre. I had the biggest trouble trying to incorporate hearts (though there are two bigger intertwined ones on the box envelope) - I kept getting smaller and smaller punches. In the end I used the one from SU's Owl Builder, and punched them from a brushed gold metallic card. I sprinkled them in amongst the flowers, and then added little clumps of Bistre Liquid Pearls. I added some pearls around the scalloped frame, too.
To add the required butterflies I cut the bodies from silver glitter card and the wings from pearlescent vellum, with the bodies from the same gold as the little hearts.
The box is made from pearlescent card. As I only have a couple of large embossing folders for this size, I opted for some simple scoring round the edges, and added two intertwined gold hearts and a larger butterfly. I was paid twice what I was going to ask for, as it was a rush job (my work-mate was meant to have asked me a month ago!!).

I am just sitting here going back and forth between the directions and your amazing card taking in every gorgeous detail. I LOVE this masterpiece. The embossed frame around the sentiment is such a good idea. The butterflies are stunning, and the little gold hearts and pearls look lovely. I don't think you were paid too much...this is priceless.

Boy I wish I could see this in person.
I also have been going back and forth with each detail....I didn't know there is pearlescent vellum...but what a great look!! Or that one can print on vellum... And I like how the lace is wrapping into the circle, the stickles on the petal edges is subtle and lovely...
I know the couple will love it and keep it forever! Kudos!

WOWZA this is gorgeous, a one of a kind...it'll be a treasured keepsake for sure. I love the butterflies with the embossed silver, the framing of the sentiment, the lace, and the script flowers on the vines..I guess I just love it all.

Would struggle with an order for a vintage wedding card with hearts and butterflies. Definitely not my strength. You really nailed it though. Beautiful card!
