Last week I used the cute SU bee from Dragonfly Dreams along with a sentiment from this inspirational set from SNSS. I wanted to use the bee that came with it - much more like the native Irish species of bee we kept for a few years, so here it is. I used ivy leaves for my foliage, but I can tell you that honey made from ivy flowers is rank and not worth eating, so I have provided daisy flowers instead.
I used the Paint Swiping tutorial, using white, orange and red acrylics. I spattered it with gold Twinkling H2Os, edged with gold acrylic.
Then when it was dry I took the TCW Art Deco Leaves stencil and did some monoprinting with peeled paint DOX. Stamped the honeycomb in wild honey DOX. Stencilled (TCW reverse chicken wire) with gold acrylic paint.
Sue Wilson Ivy cut from green card and brushed with remnant of Brusho gold shimmer mist. Flowers punched from a piece of card which had been dry-embossed with a floral frame and then partially embossed with silver. Gold microbeads for the centres.
Bee stamped and embossed on vellum, coloured from the back with a Sharpie, SN clear glitter on his wings. Sentiment stamped and embossed. All hexagons edged with yellow Stickles, gold Stickles added in places around the painted border. One hexagon embossed with SU square lattice and buffed with Craft-T luster rub-on.
Originally the sentiment was meant to be stamped directly on the card base, but after I'd made a mess twice, it was time to put the two fails together, so that was when I cut all the hexagons from the second fail, and laid the sentiment over the smudged on on the first fail.
