Wendy's Free For All "Inspired by the 70's" Challenge and Anna's Mixed Media "Black and White and Read All Over" challenge combined really perfectly today.
I was born in 1980 and I've always been a little sad that I missed the 70s. I love all things 70s. The styles, the colors, but most of all the music (and records)! Not actually the rock, though. My favorite is the bubble gum pop singers of the 70s like Donny Osmond and David Cassidy. Or really just any pop from the 70s. But I couldn't exactly make a card about "Classic Rock" and start list a bunch of disco songs. So, I went online and found a website that listed the top 100 rock songs of the 70s and I just typed them in as my background. Perfect for Anna's challenge! The number one song listed was Stairway to Heaven, so I decided to leave that one off the background and print out the record label. How perfect that it happens to be red! I wonder if I have this 45 in my basement?
P.S. my four year old just looked at this card and said "Mamma Mia!" He's right. This 45 does look a lot like that ABBA record. One of his favorites. LOL!

Super card for both challenges, Jenn, wonderfully creative!! I'm a huge fan of 70's music, too many favs to mention! Laughed when you mentioned David Cassidy - I was a huge fan of The Partridge Family and had a schoolgirl crush on him, LOL!

Fabulous idea for the challenges! You are always so creative. Love the birthday sentiment, too. Classic! Love the 45 record. I still have mine. The background song titles is awesome. Very well done! TFS

Love you card, Jen! Yesterday I saw a young man entering the grocery store with Led Zeppelin on the front! I remember seeing him in SF for free! You really missed a great era!

Super fun card, I LOVE the music of the seventies. It's the best. I had the Led Zeppelin album with this song on it and we played it over and over. My son loves 70's and 80's music the best too. It's so funny to hear him listening to the same stuff I listened to at his age.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Great idea to list those songs and artists on your bg piece. I like the 45 record also. The 70's do bring back some great memories for me. I liked the bell bottom jeans and my macrame belt. The music is some of the only stuff I could actually sing to. :>)

Love your 45 - and what a fun way to combine both challenges today! I could probably STILL sing all the words to ALL the songs you have listed there! (no acid trips for this flower child so all my brains cells are still intact - LOL)
