This technique challenge could not have come at a more perfect time. Some of you know we adopted my son from Korea. He is currently living in LA. He met the love of his life not long ago. She is 100% Korean as well. On Saturday my son told me they eloped. After the initial shock, I decided to embrace their decision and pray their love is real and strong enough to get them through this very difficult life we live. I have not met my new DIL, but will over Christmas holidays. Until then, I pray this card blesses their hearts and their new lives as man and wife.
Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a closer look. I really appreciate it.

What a beautifully elegant card. The format was great for letting you include two Korean characters (are kanji just Japanese?) expressing your wishes for their future together, and the birds are great. I am sure they will love this card.
On a positive note to encourage you, while they didn't actually elope my half-brother got engaged within two weeks of meeting his wife, and then had to fly back to Saudi within another week, so he didn't see her again till the wedding. Twenty-something years later, and with some very difficult life circumstances to deal with along the way, they are still happily married. I hope it's the same (without the challenging circumstances) for your son.

What a stunning and truly thoughtful card this is Barbie! I am really proud of you for choosing to accept your son's decision and his new bride. Most young people I know who elope just want to be married without all the wedding "stuff." Your son and his bride are lucky to have someone like you in their lives. I wish you all many, many happy years together. Your card honors them in such a lovely way Barbie! ~Karen.

On Sept. 8th, my DH and I will have been married 54 years. We eloped the night before we went back to college as seniors, and told no one until graduation. It sure worked for us!!! We have never regretted it. Best wishes to your son and his wife. You have someone else to love. Your card is touching!

What a perfect card! And congrats on gaining a DIL! My parents eloped at age 18 and were married 70 years!! Think good positive thoughts for the newlyweds! Love the poem on the last panel.
