This is the 34th week of 2017, so I read the 34th chapter of the book "50 Truths Worth Knowing" as my inspiration for this card.
Rob's parents had experienced the Great Depression and as a result were very frugal people. They didn't replace things if they still worked so they continued to drive their 1965 station wagon much longer than most people would.
Then a problem occurred... a hole developed in one of the taillights and no replacements (at an affordable price) could be found. Rob's dad, an engineer, decided to make a gooey syrup out of melted lifesaver candies and to paint that gooey mess onto the taillight. Rob questioned if this was a viable solution, "Wouldn't it melt?"
His dad replied, "Not unless someone licks it." Apparently no one did, because they continued to drive that car for many more years.
And to think... we thought candy was just for eating. LOL!
