This card is for JeanneÂ’s Dare To Get Dirty challenge.
This card is all free hand and was inspired by an amazing watercolour artist I found on Pinterest, her name is Yvonne Harry, she is English and lives in Bristol, I love her work, her blog link is below; http://watercolourflorals.blogspot.c....html?spref=pi
I basically followed what Yvonne has done creating a watercolour wash background (love that technique) and while the background was still very wet added some coarse sea salt (another favourite technique) in little piles where the flower heads were to go. I let this dry overnight and then removed the salt with a tooth brush. The paints I used are all Jo SonjaÂ’s acrylics and for the wash I used Pthalo Blue, Ultramarine and Storm Blue with a splodge of Brilliant Magenta and Transparent Magenta. For the flowerheads I used very dry sea sponges (a different one for each colour) to apply the colour and used Ultramarine, Pthalo Blue, Blue Violet with just a dab of Dioxazine Purple on a couple of the flowerheads and each head was finished off with lots of scattered dots of Pearl White. The leaves and stems were freehand drawn based with Green Oxide then I double loaded the brush with Green Oxide and Brilliant green highlighted with Turners Yellow and shaded with Teal Green and I will have to say that none of the above refers to the challenge.
You will have to play along to find out what the technique / challenge is.
