The Clean and Simple Challenge today is "Celebrate", with Canada Day and Independence Day. Canada Day was Saturday, so instead I did a celebration birthday card. This is a card that Jennifer McGuire did awhile back and I have wanted to do it ever since. I think it is a great "Celebration" card. I stamped the cardstock with the flower and leaves and stamped the vellum and heat embossed with white ink. I only had a bright red embossing powder to use for my sentiment so to tone it down I mixed red with white embossing powder. A few sequins and some Wink of Stella on the vellum covering the flower finished my card. Thanks for having a look. There is a picture of the flower on the cardstock on my blog here if you wish to see it close up. aplaceforkia

How Beautiful!! I admit, I didn't get it at fist, so went to your blog to see what you did. Now I get it. So beautiful the way this is done! It's like a two fer! I love the effect!

Such an elegant card with that stunning Peony - I went to your blog to see it and read the details. What a great technique with the embossed vellum overlay. Also, I have quite a few bright embossing powders in my stash that I never seem to use, so the top to tone them down by mixing in some white is one I'll remember.
