This is my first card made with a tag. I have only recently started working on tags, despite having done all three of Tim Holtz's Online Card Classes, Creative Chemistry 1-3. I always practiced my techniques on various papers. So I could make them into cards.
I am still working out what I want to do with my tags, other than just leaving them as tags. This was a very simple solution: I made a 3.5 X 7 card and stuck the tag on the front. I'll either make an envelope or just use a 5 X 7 when I mail it.
It's hard to see in the photo, but the lady's necklace and bracelets are embossed in gold. Thank you, Misti, and also thank you Versamark pen.
In the course of making this tag, I officially became the last person in the crafting universe to figure out that you can put something on the edge of seam binding to stop it unraveling, which has always been my beef with seam binding (my only beef, seam binding being my favorite kind of ribbon by far). In this case I just dragged the edges through some glossy accents. Duh. Then I went online and bought a whole lot of colors of seam binding. (And, yes, people will rightfully point out that I really need only own white, because I can dye it any color myself. But see those folds in the ribbon? Not random. I formed them myself, ironed them down and then glued them in place. Just to give you an idea of my tolerance for things not being precisely the shape, size and color that I want them to be. It's basically on the level of a syndrome. So I saved myself the angst and bought the colors I wanted.)

Very moody and dramatic - the harlequin background is a great setting for her. Makes me think of Paris, for some reason. Or, I use most of my tags on gifts, and I think this one would be great with a bottle of wine!
Try using Brushos to colour your binding...or even just mop the wet colour up from your craft mat with binding when you're done. You can get a lovely coloured crinkly look by squishing it up till it's dry.

Very cool design..that Klimt woman is so interesting...what is she thinking (how to make seam binding ravel proof? What to do with the pethora of tags Robin will be creating? Will she feature me on future tags?..... ) I, too, love a great harlequin bg...it's always dramatic and artistic. The little angled paper behind the woman is a wonderful detail. This turned out really well! The color combo is very striking and the whole tag is wonderful - and made a great card, to boot! Looking forward to more... ;)

life is too short to go through your fun place with things that irritate you... ( I have a whole basket of colors of seam binding btw ;) so, you are in good company!)
I love the colors in the harlequin background a great deal. tfs!
I'm considering buying more colors of seam binding. I initially bought only white with the thought of dying some yardage or coloring with Copics. When I do this, my binding ends up crinkly, not soft and flowing like I like it. So I with you, Robin! And I love the tag!
