This is for Cathy's Sketch Challenge. I love polka-dots and I'm using up old paper, so I layered up the dots. I used a darker green for the banner and white embossed the sentiment. Used ribbon for the #3 strip - ruffled coral over a white organdy ribbon and paper flowers for the #6 circles. So much could be done with this layout.
This is also for Nicole's VSN challenge to use Kim's Foolproof Watercolor technique. I chose lighter colors, so it's a little difficult to see in the photo. I scrunched up a baby wipe and pick up ink from the ink pad, then patted and wiped it on the watercolor paper. I used two colors - (cantaloupe & pistachio) to line up with the tulips & stems. I went around the area inside the edges twice to make it darker and create a "frame" and then swiped along the outside edge again for a finishing touch. Quick and easy and pretty results.
For the tulips, I stamped with coral ink and then used a yellow watercolor crayon down the middle of each tulip and then blended with aqua painter brush. For the stems & leaves, I stamped with olive ink and colored around with a lighter green watercolor crayon and blended. Stamped the bow in cantaloupe.
Hope you can use both challenges for your springtime cards. TFL

This is gorgeous! I've been nervous to try the foolproof watercolor challenge...odd because "foolproof" shouldn't scare anyone off. I love the colors you used and the layers of polka dots!
