Yesterday's Ways to use it Challenge was "the eyes have it" and I immediately heard an old Sonic Flood song in my mind. I made a hospital visit last night so I had to wait until today to do my page. MariLynn's Mixability Challenge was my next thouggt, but I just don't think it was right with Bible page paper. If you look REALLY close with a pair of reading glasses you can see faint spatter. It did give me a nice wrinkly page and when I added a second layer of ink to try again, the ink accentuated the wrinkles.....maybe I invented a new technique! I inked part of my stamp with Black Gelato that I wet and stamped on my page. I wrote the song lyrics with a Micron pen. I left my sponging away from the verse I was highlighting and doodled the frame. "...having the eyes of your hearts enlightened..." Ephesians 1:16-21
We talk about the difference between head and heart knowledge so I love the prayerful cry of the chorus asking God to open the eyes of our hearts that we might truly see him.

This turned out so well. I love how the colours flowed on your bible pages. Maybe you did invent a new technique. Sometimes they come from experimenting or "mistakes" (which really aren't mistakes at all). Great job. And I have never tried stamping with black gesso ... something new for me to try.

A great and meaningful piece of Bible journalling, Gail. I tend to associate songs with their writers rather than performers so Sonic Flood meant nothing to me, but I realise I do know the song - in fact I first learned it in French. I'm impressed you even ventured to try such a wet technique on a Bible page.
