Made for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Sketch Challenge #01-17: http://52cct.blogspot.co.uk/ that required a triangular central feature with a star-like feature at the top.
This card sort of evolved. I knew I wanted a "tree" as the triangular feature, but I didn't want a typical tree. So, I used the largest star stamp in SU's Bright & Beautiful, and masked off the side "arms" of the star with painter's tape. I then inked the masked star with Versamark and, after removing the painter's tape, stamped it on panel of Basic Black (5"x3-3/4"). The "tree" was then sprinkled with Recollections Detailed Silver Embossing Powder and heat set using the Heating Tool.
Likewise, I used the smallest star from the stamp set and heat embossed it with Recollections Detailed Copper Embossing Powder.
The "Joy" sentiment was made by running a thin piece of copper origami foil through my Xyron to cover the back with adhesive, then adhered to a piece of cardstock to give it stability. This was then die cut using the SU Wonderful Wreath Framelits Die. The sentiment was attached diagonally over the tree by rolling up Mini Glue Dots into a thin "log", and attaching these adhesive logs to the back of the Joy sentiment.
The main panel was then matted with DCWC Holiday Glitzy Glitter silver cardstock (5-1/4" x 4") using Tombow glue. The matted panel was then attached to an A2 (5-1/2"x8-1/2") card base.
My only disappointment was that by using the Embossing Buddy, I had a light white sheen on the back cardstock. If anyone knows how to effectively remove the unwanted "dust" after the card has been heat embossed, please let me know!
I rated the difficulty as "3", but if you have some copper foil cardstock that doesn't need to be reinforced like my thin foil did, the card would be a "2".

Absolutely love this ornate tree. And such a great way to get more use out of your star stamps! The copper adds a wonderful touch of glamour! Sorry to be so late commenting! Thanks so much for playing along with Christmas Card Throwdown. Deborah, DT.
