Polly led us to StampingMathilda's fun site with her Sunday Scraps inspirations for us. I love using up random pieces together! I have no idea when I made the Ombre piece, but it was a while ago. I think I was working on something else and cleaned off my brush onto watercolor paper to get the ombre effect. I also used a Slate marker to write illegibly across that piece. In assembling this today, I also spattered it by flicking a Bronze Sharpie over it. My leaves were part of an experiment I began last night. The top one is a diecut from watercolor paper that I Wrote on with Elegant Writer pens then activated that ink with water to bleed out over the piece. I did this a couple of times and then used some watered down Distress Ink- Vintage Photo to add the tan color in a crosshatch pattern. Today I crumpled this and smeared a copper ink pad across the raised parts and also used Bronze Sharpie along the edges and with a bit of spatter. The bottom leaf is a piece of dp that was ugly and bright. I kept the coffee grounds from our Aeropressed coffees yesterday in a bowl then added hot water to that and soaked the diecut dp pieces in it. I then laid them out onto a drying rack and I ended up liking both sides. For the purpose of helping my leaf stand out against the Ombre I used the back side facing up. I cut the leaf in half and spread the pieces apart slightly to show behind the entire leaf that is popped over the top. I added a dp circle and a sticker sentiment. The back pieces are a large scrap of Burgundy that I tore and then dragged through the leftover spatter on the sheet where I had laid the pieces and flicked the Sharpie. I also had the leaf embossed piece which I think was sugarplum embossed over with clear then brayered over with Razzleberry. So fun to upcycle!

WOW Gail you really took the scraps and recycling to heart on this one. It sounds like you had so much fun adding this and that to your pieces. I'm very impressed with the leaves.... stunning! Great card! Thanks for playing along today
