Another card for Lydia's fun MIX challenge last week. In a desperate bid to stay up till a reasonable hour last night I was playing around and revisiting the Texture Pressing tutorial. I used an abysmal failure at Lori's stamped masking technique for my base layer, I can't remember what I used for it but probably, judging by the colours and slight shimmer, some Brusho acrylic mists.
The colours in that cued me to use a Kaleidacolor pad for stamping into my texture paste. And the resulting texture led me to pull out an old lizard stamp when I was wondering how on earth to use what I had ended up with. I stamped and embossed the lizard on thin watercolour paper and coloured with Inktense pencils - plus a drop of Enamel Accents for each eye.
This morning I added the lizard and a suitable sentiment to the card base. Twenty minutes tidying my desk failed to turn up my Rangers Archival pad so I just stamped with Versamark and embossed with clear EP before adding colour to the "SUN". I shaped the lizard a little with foam tape, and glued the four feet securely to the base before adding little toes of Liquid Pearls.
And...for the MIX challenge, it's just as well that my illegible script really is, because I wrote in French and made a BIG grammatical error, writing ciels instead of cieux for skies. But nobody knows except us chickens... I used a pencil for my writing..
