Because the sketch required a round feature in the center background, I dug into my embellishments stash and chose the largest foil doily I had (which turned out to be a metallic silver) and used the "Direct to Paper" technique of rubbing my green stamp pad over the white backing over and over until it got to the darkness I wanted.
The floral center panel was created with a 2002 SU stamp set called "Tropical Blossoms". I wanted a 3D effect to give some depth to this otherwise very flat concept I had in my mind. The center flower was hand cut with scissors and mounted with foam dimensionals. The stamen on that flower had bright white as its background, so I used a sponge to dampen down the bright white with gray and green where the stamen would "overlap" those background colors.
All in all, a pretty straightforward card with not as many technical features as I often include in my cards. I need the variety of card types to keep the excitement going in my creations.
