This was a very labor-intensive card, but I love it and think it well worth the time and effort. I made 4 of them.
I downloaded and printed the music sheet images from a link on Pinterest. I ran the water brush along the image outline to tear nice feathery, fairly straight edges. The edges were then brushed with the Crumb Cake marker. Used the spotted background on the music sheet and backing cardstock.
The nativity stamp is a stained glass format. I heat embossed it with black EP on vanilla cardstock. The embossing made it easier to color and cut as well as helped to add a slight bit of dimension and a finished look to the cutout. The star was colored with Wink of Luna and the rest with SU markers, except for Mary's veil where I used a brush to color it with white reinker.* I only cut out the main part of the image (all fussy-cut), eliminating the rest of the stained glass background.
* On a side note, I simply have been unable to find a white pen that covers opaque enough and without indentation marks from the pen tip. Luckily, I had the reinker for my craft ink pad. If anyone has found a white pen/marker that works well for them, I'd be grateful for any suggestions.
TFL!
