I made this 2015 Halloween card for my dear friend Loretta. At the time, Loretta was participating in a cemetery walk which means she (and others) acted out a part from a person who actually lived and was buried in this particular cemetery. The characters they brought to life were all over 100 years old and it was done with very high integrity in order to honor those who were gone, yet bring them to life for this generation. So, I knew I wanted this card to have a cemetery feel to it. I have a very old Sizzix graveyard die and once I cut that, I knew how the rest of the card needed to look. Everything else was cut from glittered cardstock on the cricut. The sky was sponged with black ink and a stencil. The moon was masked off while I did the sky stenciling, then removed the mask and sponged ink around the outer edges of the moon. When the card was basically done, it still needed something. My husband suggested adding the RIP letters to the gravestones and that was just what the card needed.
