I was inspired this morning by a couple of cards that Nancy (stiz2003) and a young friend made using the stencil mono printing technique. I had done this before but forgot how fun and easy it was. So that's how I started my bg..I added some stamped leafy branches and edged it using gelatos (I swiped those on the very edge and then used a wet finger to go over it) and then drew on a thin line with a gold krylon pen. The girl is colored with pencils, fussy cut, and then topped with some stickles. It's kind of funny but I have quite a few girls with wings stamps...I guess it's an unintended collection..lol.

I really like the technique you used for your background, Polly. I also like your winged girl and the pretty leaves you added. I need to rely on that sentiment....if possible.

I like the combination of the stamping on top of the monoprint...I usually do mine on textured card which is harder to stamp on after it's been wet too much. Your butterfly girl is so perfect for the challenge - and I love her woodland dress too.

Beautiful, Polly! Your mixed media pieces are always fabulous. Love that greeting. I wish I'd seen it before I ran errands today..I kept thinking "who opened the bag of idiots?"

Love the colors you used, and your layered stamped images - the monoprint is a perfect base layer with its warmth and leafy/wingy pattern. Thanks so much for playing along with me!
