Every year I buy 4 matching ornaments. I keep one and give/send the others to our 3 kids. The story behind these ornaments made in Haiti: In 1997 I went to Pignon, Haiti, on a mission trip with our oldest daughter to do some painting and other work for a hospital there. (Check out Promise for Haiti.) At the county fair we went to this September near our home, there was a booth selling these ornaments made by people in Haiti from used oil barrels. I knew I had found the perfect ornament for this year's gift to the kids.

How cool and so thoughtful. The stars are very pretty, that had to be a lot of work for them. I am sure your kids will love them and your thoughts behind the ornaments each year. What a great tradition!
