Uh oh! Have you seen what can be created with a Starbucks cup (the fall design)? Isn't this just the cutest ever?! Find your nearest Starbucks, order a delicious beverage, and ask for a clean cup to go (she smiles).
Cut the cup down to the bottom edge (where the bottom meets the sides), and cut near the beverage cup icons (where they write all the deets about your drink). Once you're at the bottom, carefully unwrap the bottom from the cup sides. Now smooth the out the cup and measure your size, then die cut the logo out. Tada! you're ready to color - but be careful because the ink on the cup does not like your Copics and will transfer to the tip. It won't hurt your tip it just looks bad. I always swipe my tip a few times anyway. But because I noticed it transferring, I colored the leaves, pinecone, and pumpkin with prismacolor pencil. When I was done I added some glossy accents to the berries for a little dimension. The mouse is from Penny Black and is colored with Copics with some Wink of Stella for effect. Now here's the kicker -- I have a roll of white masking tape (love it!) so I cut out a circle, sponged on some distress ink and stuck it behind the die cut opening -- now this little mouse can see his way through the woods (she smiles).
I wish I could take the credit for thinking up this inspiration, but alas I cannot. If you follow Kathy Racoosin's blog, The Daily Marker, you'll be delighted with more unique ideas for using your Starbucks cup.
Hugs,
Susie ~

Absolutely adorable PB image and as always, great design and perfect coloring. I saw the Starbucks cup post on Kathy's blog. I don't drink coffee but I was thinking I needed to buy a cup of something to get one. Hee!

Oh, Susie, this is just amazing and such wonderful coloring. No, I've not seen the Starbucks coffee cups (don't go there), but I believe I saw this on FB briefly (popped in ever so quickly). But what a delight, my friend! Hope you are having a wonderful day! Hugs!
