MariLynn, I gave it a try and my new technique just did not quite work right for me either. I tried acrylic distress, but I couldn't get the paint to sand off of the raised embossed portions. I gave it two tries: the gold panel and the lighter panel in the background. I then stenciled using the lacy border trim on some of the lighter panel with rich cocoa, but it was not so hot either (either though that is a tried and true usually for me). Then just before I got this loaded this AM at 7:15 AM, I get a phone call from the lady I was suppose to babysit for today. So out I ran to that job, and am just now posting this lame effort at my "What if". So, what if all fails, glue on some embellishments and call it a done deal!!LOL

If you hadn't shared what you failed at, I would never have known. I love how this turned out. I am sure that it will be a blessing to the recipient. Thanks for playing "What if?"
