After seeing Loll Thompson's Gorgeous Saturated Watercolored Cards I just had to give the rich colored background a try. Thanks Loll for inspiring me AGAIN!
I used a SU clear plastic wood stamp box to drop several drops of Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango and Primrose Petals dye ink into. Then spritzed with water and smeared around a bit with my palette knife (it was handy). I then layed a 4 x 5 piece of watercolor paper over the mixed inks and let really soak in the inks. Yes, a bit inky. Just have paper towels handy. I had enough leftover ink to do another piece. This bg is actually my 2nd piece. I added more reinker and ended up with 4 pieces total for future projects :-)
The box washed out beautifully and really worked well containing the ink..except what got on my fingers!
The rest of the card went together quickly. I did stamp a dragonfly with DDelight and T. Tango and fussy cut out and then covered twice with Crystal Effects.
I LOVE the rich saturated colors. Thanks again Loll for your help encouraging me along the way :-)
Enjoy and do try this really fun technique. I think it is spritzed watercoloring too except you really get the saturated colors when you keep the reinkers contained. Loll used her Craft Mat to mix her inks.

Your background turned out so beautiful! Love the addition of the texture from you diagonal strip embossing ... and love that fresh foliage die - so pretty. Dragonfly is perfect embellishment. So glad you got inky and had fun!

Very pretty, love the white die-cut against the bright WC panel. Thanks for sharing the technique...tried it a few years ago, but never let the paper soak up the colors. Can't wait to give it a try. TFS
What a beautiful card, Nancy! I LOVE the color saturation of the BG panel and the surrounding white! The leaves in white are breathtaking and the dragonfly is just perfect!
