This is my design for March's Christmas Card challenge. We were challenged by auntangie to repurpose, recycle, or reuse something. I don't really keep things around to someday reuse, but I thought I'd pull out an old SU stamp set (retired 2004), and some vellum cardstock.
First, I was inspired by a card I saw on the I'm in Haven blog in which pencils were used to color in white-embossed flowers on craft cardstock. I never knew this could be so pretty. I tried it with this tree, and I think for the rest of my cards I'll stick to the brighter greens.
Second, I was trying to channel limedoodle. She uses vellum, and multiple layered elements, really well. I had given up using vellum a while ago because I couldn't find a sheer adhesive. The top of this card was my attempt to achieve that cool, layered look that I love. I even added a little twine, which is unusual for me.

Sue I'm so glad you took the challenge and put your own spin on it! I'm going to have to try coloring on kraft card stock, I really like the look of it on your card.
