This is my sample card for this week's sketch challenge with a great sketch from Janette. My dear cousin (who is mentally handicapped) remains hospitalized and unable to eat or drink one week after surgery. I wanted to send him another card and decided to go rather cowboy this time. I can never remember the name of this technique where you start stamping on the right with your image then without re-inking stamp a bit to the left then again to the left to give the impression of movement. I added a partial accent in artichoke then distressed my edges and used 3 colors of brown ink to make a faux burnt edge. I also backed this piece with a chocolate chip circle lightly distressed. I used twill tape for my banner piece and stamped my Scripture verse right onto that. In order to stay masculine, I tied a small knot in my ribbon that accents the join of the two dp pieces. I popped this whole panel over my artichoke base.

Wow, this is a fabulous card for your cousin! Hope his recovery improves soon. I love all the different techniques you used in your card and the great DSP.

Very nice card, Gail! Like the shadow images (that's what I call it when I do it--hee!) and the colors and patterned papers. Hope your cousin improves soon.

What a beautiful card to be so inspired by sad events. I love that image panel. Wonderful technique; thanks for bringing it to mind again. I have been drawn lately to browns and blue-greens and your choices here are great. TFS
