My natural inclination in card making is more modern and CAS but every once in a while, I explore my vintage side. I appreciate antiques, old lace, quilts, and any vintage paper items. I felt that Rebecca's interest in vintage paper crafting needed to be explored. I chose two creations: Peace on Earth Easel Card by rebeccadeeprose at Splitcoaststampers
and hand dyed cheesecloth bow in 'Christmas Gift' Album by rebeccadeeprose at Splitcoaststampers
The first one was chosen because I had never done an easel card and the second one because I loved the cheesecloth 'ribbon.' I thought my vintage postcard, mailed January 1, 1936 and the wispy cheesecloth bow would go together well. I had the dyed cheesecloth already (dyed with watercolors, I will use the paper background I created with the cheesecloth for another project soon!).
This card proves that I'm not an engineer. I followed the easel card tutorial but had to make modifications based on the size of the postcard and that was the hardest part. I made the photo corners using the All Night Media corner set I bought long ago, stamped with Versamark and then gold ep. The wonderful marbled paper reminds me of old books and I thought it went well with the style of the postcard. Her easel card was a frothy vision of beauty and texture but I wanted to keep mine simpler so that the postcard would be the focus. I am going to go through Rebecca's gallery again because it has so many projects other than cards, which I tend not to try. She makes wonderful creations.
PS This is also for the FFA, to create a card to give to someone very very soon. I will do that (very very soon).

this is off the charts awesome and honors Rebecca's fussy style (meant only in the best fussy way!!!). I love that you chose the cheesecloth bow, I am tucking that in my gray matter, it looks marvelous with the fancy vintage postcard. I especially like how the tiny gold trim and the swirls on the base with the pearls draw everything together. And we are most definitely cut from the same tutorial engineering wonkiness...I had fits with Sabrina's snow globe challenge recently. But as far as I can see from where I am sitting your card is stellar!
I am glad you braved the 'weather'!

Super card! I love the flourishes and pearls with the marbled paper that you used and the clever way you framed that wonderful vintage postcard. What a beautiful tribute to Rebecca!
