For the water I smeared Weathered Wood, Peeled Paint, & Faded Jeans on my silicone mat, spritzed with water and slide my paper through it. Then covered with gesso and combed through it. After dry I reapplied some faded jeans ink.

Love the effect the comb had on your background. That looks awesome! Great scene, I can't help but wonder what those fish are thinking - look at those faces!
