This is for Color Challenge 422. I want to say right up front that I realize that I have CASED your card Roberta (aka stampin' nana) It was not intentional - I peeked at the design team entries after I checked the colors for the week and when I saw your card all I thought was "Oh right! I have been wanting to use my SU bird and punch again!" So I went into my studio and started working away. Your lovely card must have just stayed with me more than I knew, because when I was finished, I looked at my card and thought "Uh oh. This sort of reminds me of the one Roberta did. The bird in a frame, the flower at the side....I think this is a CASE!" I checked and, duh, I was right. I'll link to the original
in the interest of full disclosure, and hope that Roberta will consider mine an homage to her general card-making wonderfulness. Her card is a beauty!
I did make another card so that my only entry would not be a CASE. It also obeys the color constraints better. Not entirely, but then if the card only had the challenge colors on it, you can bet it wouldn't be a card I made.
Thanks for looking. And thank you for the inspiration, Roberta!

Rachel, you are way too kind with your thoughts on my card! I take that as a wonderful compliment, and please, don't ever feel like you've committed a crime by casing someone's card! The way I look at it is that it's the greatest compliment one can give to another stamper! So thank you very much, and your card is adorable! Your Bird in the Trees stamp is perfect with the SU bird, Rachel! I love your pretty frame, the flower and great use of these colors~

Wonderful card and who better to be inspired by than Roberta. She also presented an awesome card. Love them both.

This is beautiful....and I think Roberta will be thrilled that you liked her card enough to CASE it. IMO, it is different and a beauty in its own right.

I suppose it could be a case, but I see lots of differences too. I LOVE your stamped rectangle frame! It kinda looks like doodling! Your silhouetted birds in the background are wonderful and make me think your main image is looking to join his friends! He looks like he is on a closer tree/bush. Love the single bloom in the corner too, with just a slight pop of color! WONDERFUL card, truly lovely Rachel!!!

Ha - that's one of the CAC stamps I've been holding out on because I thought it would be like the embossing folders that are stand-alone designs, which I find much harder to use than ones that are just patterns. But you have me tempted with this, Rachel. Those bare branches with birds in them are a picture I'd love to have hanging on the wall. It almost has the quality of a photograph framed and then upscaled into a little artwork.

I threw it on an order for the heck of it - I'd had the same thought as you - and I'm glad I did.
Let's face it, Sabrina, we are going to ultimately enable each other into both owning every stamp they make!
