This is my card for the MIX11 challenge. I chose to use negative die cuts as stencils.
For some reason I really struggled with this card, which is why it's just now getting posted! But I think I'm finally happy with it.
I started with a sheet from the Prima Botanicals Collection and used a negative from a SB Deckled Rectangles die for my frame. I sponged in Broken China Distress Ink, then added leaves in Peeled Paint DI using the negative of a Sizzlits Flowers, Branches & Leaves die cut. I colored the Stampendous Agapanthus stamp with Distress Markers Worn Lipstick, Fired Brick and Peeled Paint, then stamped three times. I added a couple of small flowers using a Michael's dollar stamp and Wild Honey.
I wasn't crazy about it, but added the TH sentiment in VersaFine Onyx Black. Better, but still missing something, so I inked up Hero Arts Fabulous Flourish with VersaMark and heat embossed with clear ep. Finally - I liked it!
The image layer is popped on foam cut to size and adhered to the black mat with Scor-Tape. I cut the edge of the mat with a SB Edgeability die. BG is Basic Grey dsp cut to fit a cream card base. The butterfly is a MS punch with matching stamps; he's glittered and sealed with Glossy Accents.
As always, thanks for looking!

OH, I'm so glad you kept going because it turned out gorgeous! I have the same process with most of my mixed-media pieces. So clear embossing is the last step... I'll have to remember that one.
So glad you played along with the challenge this week.
