I want to thank Sheri Decker for the opportunity to send cards to my friend Bill Dewhurst who recently was diagnosed with Leukemia back in September right after his brother passed away from prostate cancer in August. I knew his brother only through a working relationship as he was the controller for one of the fish companies I dealt with. I dedicated all my HYCCT cards last year in his memory. Bill's sister who lives in Hawaii thought this was the nicest someone could do for her brother. I'm looking forward to meeting her when she comes to visit in May.
We were to bring anything that flies to the tea party & Eeyore. I made Eeyore by finding a coloring page online, then I shrunk him small enough so he can fit nicely in the basket & I colored him with Copics.
Even though I had hot air balloons stamps, I wanted to make my own using circle punches & a cupcake stamp for the basket & added hemp. The balloon, basket & Eeyore is raised with foam squares. I stamped the tree twice on dp, cut out & added a foam square. The background is cloud dp & I thought this would be perfect since I didn't have any cloud punches. I used SU old olive cs for the grass then used the CB flower ef to make it come alive.
Thanks everyone for sending your cards off to Bill. I'm so excited & I can't wait for his response especially receiving cards from people he doesn't even know not even me only as a FB friend.
Thanks to everyone & everything that you do. I love this group & I always enjoy sending cards to people that could use a little cheering up.

Wow! Connie, you are so wonderful to get this going for Bill! Sounds like he sure has been through a lot!
Your card is fabulous!!! Your embossed grass and balloon look fantastic! And even though Eeyore doesn't look too happy, I am positive he is having a great time flying by on his way to Bill!!!

What a fantastic card for Bill, Connie!! I love this scene of Eeyore flying in the balloon over the beautiful area that Bend is in! I hope Eeyore doesn't see the beautiful Metolius River area, as you'll have a hard time getting him out of there.

This card is terrific, I love how you shrunk Eeyore and have him safely in the basket. It is a really lovely thing for you to arrange this teaparty for Bill and for what you did for his brother. You are a very special lady Connie.

This is very creative! I love that you made your hot air balloon from punches, and that you used an embossing folder to add texture to the grass. And that tree! It is perfect!
TFS your wonderful card!

What a clever and creative stamper you are to use punches and a cupcake stamp for your balloon! I like the different textures and patterns you have incorporated in your design.
