When I saw pinking shears I knew I'd be using my mom's. This is dedicated in her memory. She was the first person I lost to breast cancer. That was 1984. I also used this PI set b/c she was a seamstress & made so many clothes for my girls, who unfortunately hardly remember her. She also was my inspiration to become a nurse.
First I cut the circle w/ a nestie & trimmed around it w/ the pinking shears (Mom is probably cringing b/c I use them on paper not fabric). My image is colored w/ WCW crayons. The sentiment is also in the set, but using the stamp positioner I used only the words I wanted. Some corner piercing finishes this. Oh, there's also glossy accents on her shoes.
I hope this will bring some joy to someone at MD Anderson Cancer Center, as it did to me to make it, even though I'm now crying.
Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

Sweet memories! Sorry for your loss and how hard that your girls were too young to remember much about your mom. You did a great job with the pinking shears to make your trim around the cute little girl.

What a sweet remembrance Bugzi. I am so sorry about your Mom. I don't think she was cringing at all with using the sheers on paper. I think she was rejoicing that you were remembering her. Super cute and very special card.
