Today I'm channeling our wonderful resident SCS stamping humorist, Anne Ryan with my HYCCT card, for the challenge - You had me in Stitches!
Meet Melvin - I really think he is a relative of many of Anne's stamps!!! She MAY even have Melvin somewhere in her family....
anyway - He makes me laugh - even just sitting in his packaging - which I hadn't taken him out of until today! Along with this perfect sentiment to go with him - I paper pieced Melvin's clothes - and stamped with a stitch stamp around the edges. Melvin is colored with Copics, cut out and popped up on foam tape.
Melvin and the sentiment are both Art-impressions stamps - the stitch stamp is from Waltzingmouse
Inside - I made a sentiment with my Brother P-touch label maker that says "Like Mixing Plaid with Prints" (this is in direct reference to Melvin's outfit - in case you missed that his shirt is plaid and his pants are polka dots!)

Love this card! I have this stamp....actually have several of this line! Mine never look this great, though. Love how you paper pieced him and colored him in.

Awesome - comical - and totally GOOFY - you've nailed it with the polka dots and plaid - yes, Anne has done many a card with this humorous character - how could you not love his totally oblivious-to-fashion personality ?? You sure did a great job with him!!

OMG - the way his pants are pulled up almost to his armpits, he reminds me of one of the math teachers when I was in junior high school - except Melvin has a lot more hair. LOL! Super job with the paper piecing. The stamped stitching is great, too. Thanks for joining in my HYCCT challenge!
