Today's Technique Lover's Challenge is "Stamping Nostalgia" - use only those things that were available way back when.
So I went to one of my first stamp sets - In the Stars. And found an old piece of dp at the bottom of the drawer. Got out a circle punch instead of a Nesties circle. And way back before embossing folders, I used to use a paper crimper to add some texture so dug that out too!
Stamped, heat embossed, and hand-cut the stars, punched semi-circles out of the dp to let the crimped green background to show through (an idea I saw ages ago on SCS - not sure who to give credit to as it was so long ago). Had to add twine instead of ribbon as it's for my nephew's birthday.

Oh yes, I used to use a crimper as well. Now it is relegated to crimping extra pieces of cs to put over my embellished cards when mailing! I really like what you did here with the crimped layer behind the dp and the partial circle cut out. Nice birthday card!

Funny how we all forget some of the cool tools we have, like the crimper. Love your crimped cs. Love the stripes and half circles and stars and twine. Way cool card. TFS :0)

So totally cool! Love the crimped paper and the cut outs so you can see it.

the crimping is wonderful, but the best part is the punching out where you put the stars! Love it!
