Judy challenged us to make a card using the faux patina technique. I always have trouble with techniques that use more than one ink. Either I don't understand what we were trying to do – or I just didn't do it right. It actually looks a little better irl as you can see more of the teal color. Well, I get credit for trying, right? And I had fun trying.
The yarn fiber has some blue in it so I thought it worked well – and better than a "pretty" ribbon. I embossed the lantern in black and before heating it, I added just a wee bit of blue, which shows up irl, but wouldn't show up in any of the 5 photos I took. This will probably be a masculine birthday card.

You did a super job! You might like it better if the background was darker. Don't be afraid to sponge on a lot of color! BUT -- this is beautiful, just as it is! So glad you played along!
